Like its vintage predecessor, the now rare API 1604 desk of the seventies, the new 1608 is packed full of API 2520 discrete circuits. Now API has advanced the 16-channel design, expanding the routing to eight buss, with eight additional line-ins/returns, and patching capabilities galore. The1604 features full metering and a comprehensive center-section, along with an expander option that will allow 32 channels mixing. The console's famous 500-series penthouse comes loaded with twelve 550a and four 560 EQ modules (* Or you can custom configure 500 modules to taste!). Plus, there are eight additional 500 option slots for more EQs, compressors, or even 500-type mic pres! Lest we forget the 1608's boutique build-quality, compact footprint and elegant, vintage look. It's an instant classic!
And the best part of the API 1608? That big, punchy API sound!

- 8 additional line inputs give the added functionality of tape monitoring during tracking or effects returns/ line inputs at mix down for a total of 24 line inputs.
