The Audix UEM81S Battery Powered Condenser Shotgun Microphone puts studio quality performance wihin the reach of any home studio, musician, engineer, or sound contractor. This Audix mic is especially suited for distance miking of instruments.
The small-diaphragm microphone features a cardioid polar pattern for maximum gain-before-feedback.
Its smooth, wide frequency response is ideal for both vocal and instrument capturing and the high SPL handling of 135dB minimizes noise and distortion when capturing transient instruments such as drums, guitar and percussion. The UEM81S features a low-frequency roll-off switch for minimizing low-frequency noise, hum and proximity effect.

The UEM81S is a pre-polarized condenser microphone used for stage, studio, video and broadcast applications. The UEM81S is conveniently powered by one AA battery, therfore; it is not dependent on phantom power for operation. Known for its exceptional sound quality, accurate response, and ability to pick up from a distance, the UEM81S is designed to be aimed directly at the sound source and can help capture those “hard to get to” places in a theatre, on a stage, in a sporting event, or in the outdoors.

Characterized with a uniformly controlled supercardioid polar pattern, the UEM81S is designed to capture the acoustics of a vocal or instrument while at the same time isolating it from the rest of the ambient noise on stage or in the room. With a wide frequency range of 20 Hz – 20 kHz, the UEM81S is equipped with an on-off switch as well as with a bass roll-off switch.
