Lavry DA10
|
Here’s a device that co-exists in both the Pro Audio and Hi-Fi worlds. The DA10 stand alone digital to analog converter, also known as the “Lavry Black”. is a half-rack thing of beauty. The rear panel has AES, RCA Spdif and Optical inputs, along with full XLR stereo analog outs, which can operate either balanced or unbalanced. On the front, there’s Lavry’s innovative clock-mode switch, enabling the user to select wide, narrow or “Crystal” modes. But wait! That’s not all. The DA10 also gives you a headphone jack, and even a level control for the analog outs. In the studio this would be a great “back-end” D to A feed to the monitors. For the audiophile, the Lavry DA10 will convert CD sources with true reference quality.

The half rack unit can receive AES or SPDIF digital audio on XLR, RCA and optical link.
The DA provides three Clock modes. The preferred modes are Crystal™ and Narrow Lock modes, but the unit also offers a Wide lock mode based on an internal Sample rate conversion for listening at non standard sampling rates.
The level of the analog outputs (balanced or unbalanced) is controlled by an up–down switch and a 2 digit display. The “potentiometer free” discrete analog attenuator provides up to 56dB very high precision volume control in 1 dB steps.
A state of the art discrete headphone driver is capable of accommodating at ease even the lowest impedance headphones. The unit includes a polarity switch, and a Stereo-Mono switch, a feature aimed at mastering studios.
