Lucas CS-1 (Matched Pair)

Multi-Pattern Tube Condenser Microphones - Sequential Serial #'s The Lucas CS-1 is a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone that was designed by Terry Manning of Compass Point Studios and Oliver Archut of TAB-Funkenwerk. These ones are a matched pair and have sequential serial numbers. They are all hand built by the TAB-Funkewerk company.

After the designers were initially modding an AKG C12VR, something entirely new was born, the Lucas CS-1. The mics feature custom designs and circuitry as well as some of the rarest audio tubes in the business. The tube in the mic was designed by Mullard in the early 70's and is no longer in production. It was designed for use in a high-end audio component. The tube offers low noise and, according to Manning, ''a couple of design possibilities that have never before been used in a microphone buffer amplifier'' The tube can ONLY be found in this microphone and according to the designers is the most robust and best sounding tube of its kind ever made.
