The earlier model C 3000 has had a large fan club in the project studio and home recording worlds for years. For the new C 3000 B, AKG designed a special 1-inch large-diaphragm transducer that closely approximates the vibration performance of top-class studio microphones, but can be made at much lower cost.

Two switches select options for bass roll-off and preattenuation, allowing users to custom tailor the C3000B for virtually any stage or studio assignment. An internal InterSpider suspension supports the external shock mount H 100, an integrated windscreen accommodates outdoor use, and a safety flange provides secure connections in hanging applications. Rugged construction, die-cast eurostyled casing, and scratch-resistant matte finish make the C3000B well suited to the rigors of touring.
