The new EM-PEQ is a 3-band Pultec-style passive EQ for the 500 series. How cool is that? Chandler Germanium 500

The perfect word to describe this mic-pre is "butter". It’s like buttering the sound. Using germanium transistors and a high-voltage class-A circuit, the G500 reaches heights of silky smoothness not heard since the early 1960s, when germanium-based circuits were used by Neve, Telefunken and others. The G500’s harmonic artifacts are considered by some to sound even warmer and fatter than tube gear.

LaChapell 583s Vacuum Tube Preamp

The Model 583s is the first 500 series vacuum tube preamplifiers and is based on the popular LaChapell 992EG platform. The input stage is a traditional single-ended type utilizing a 1:10 microphone input transformer along with one ECC83/12AX7 vacuum tube and the output stage utilizes premium Burr-Brown and THAT Corporation balanced line drivers.

One of the most famous mic preamps around, the 512C uses the sought-after 2520 op-amp, which yields 65 dB of distinctive, clean/creamy gain. Action is another wonderful 500-type module from Purple Audio. API 525

An exact replica of the legendary 70's-era workhorse, the 525 was (and still is) a sophisticated and transparent-sounding compressor/limiter. Featuring a fixed, very fast attack time, variable release times and a killer de-esser, the 525 also boasts a one-knob ceiling control which automatically adjusts output gain -- very musical, and very useful for people who like to work fast. Yes it’s an odd name for an EQ. But you’ll find that this sweet and musical 500-type inductor EQ will be the odd man IN!
