The Chandler Limited Mini Mixer is the culmination of Chandlers experience working with many types of vintage, discrete circuits. The Mini Rack Mixer traces its lineage back to several types of these amplifiers developed in the 60's and 70's that have been ''Chandlerized'' for modern usage.
Chandler answers the call with this fat 16-channel system. The Mini Mixer's circuits are derived from Chandler's deep knowledge of classic 60's and 70's desks, having been "Chandlerized'" for modern use and affordability. Its summed sound has outstanding warmth and musicality.
Each channel of the 16x2 Mixer is transformer balanced and driven by the Chandler Line Amp, which borrows from Chandlers other products but has been redesigned for use in this mixer. The Mini Mixer is jam packed with discrete amps and classic sound, 20 discrete amplifiers and 22 custom wound transformers in the unit, and delivering all the punch and tone you need for today's digital environment.
In addition to the mixer section, the unit has a full featured Control Room section including Talkback, Speaker switching, Mute, Mono, Dim, External input (also used as an insert point), and separate Control Room and Stereo Buss outs.
The Mini Mixer requires the Chandler PSU-2 power supply.
Each control is push/pull to mute the channel, lighting the channel LED when active.
Continuously variable left/right stereo field panning.
Volume control and momentary push button to engage.
Volume for two sets of stereo outputs. Speaker 1/2 and External input switching.
Volume for speaker selection one and two, mute, mono and dim functions.
Pressing this button disconnects mix section and control room section allowing for some interesting combinations. The most obvious is to listen to 2-track machines and CD platers but was designed with other options in mind.
By pressing the External button you can create a stereo insert point between the Stereo Outputs and Control Room sections of the mixer. Hit External, patch from the Stereo Output to the External Input and the Control Room becomes your Stereo Out with an insert point.
To sum through the Stereo Out press External. Feed a stereo mic from your DAW to the External Input and monitor from the Control Room Out. The mixer is them completely independent from Control Room and the stereo buss is now usable for dual mono or stereo summing.
