Neumann M1-1A (Historic)
First pre-production Neumann Tube microphone 1928
This microphone is serial number 213 and we believe it dates back to the late 1920’s, and pre-dates Neumann’s first production microphone the CMV3. It has a Torpedo Head, REO84K triode tube amplifier and a pressure-omni M1 capsule made from hand-cast, gold-plated colloidan. The eventual CMV (nicknamed the “Bottle mic,”) designation referred to "Condensator Mikrofon Verstärker" (condenser microphone amplifier) this is an earlier prototype version. It is currently in perfect working condition in our private collection.
