Peluso P Stereo
Stereo Condenser Microphone with PSU, Cables, and Shock Mount, in Wood Box and Flight Case
Inspired by classic German Stereo Microphones - with selectable Omni, Cardioid, and Figure 8 polar patters. This stereo large diaphragm condenser works great as a M/S mic. Sonically, it's very accurate and stays true to the source. Also good for Blumlein and X/Y.
Hand built in the USA.
The Peluso Microphone Lab P Stereo Microphone is inspired by the classic stereo microphones from Germany. It uses the exclusive Peluso P-K69/67 capsule which closely emulates the sound of the original SM-69. It faithfully reproduces deep lows with airy highs. This microphone can run from it's included power supply or, if AC power is not available, it will run from phantom power with slightly reduced SPL handling.
The P Stereo Microphone's controls are laid out intuitively on the front of the microphone, with the 3 pattern selection switch labeled for each polar pattern. Standard patterns are Omni, Cardioid, and Figure 8.
This allows for XY, Blumlein and Mid-Side stereo recording. Between the three pattern setting choices, you'll ready and able to capture any sonic event and come up with excellent results. A -10db pad is located on the rear.
The microphone's stacked dual capsules are marked as A and B; "A" being the upper/ rotatable capsule, and the bottom capsule (B) is fixed in place. The upper capsule rotates in one direction, 90 degrees.
With a simple twist, you're ready for all of your stereo "left/right" standard recording techniques. Leaving the mic facing straight ahead would set you up for Mid/Side recording. Twisting the mic in the shock mount so that the “A” pattern selector switch faces the sound source puts you perfectly on axis for XY or Blumlein. The upper capsule marked “A” will always be going to be the right channel if you are recording Mid-Side.
Be sure of that, as all software, consoles or DAWs will want the raw channels presented in this manner, where Left = Mid info and Right = Side.
In general practice, the upper will always be the right channel no matter what.
The microphone comes as a complete system, with Microphone, Power Supply, 5 Conductor Cable, and Shock Mount. Packed in Wood Box and Flight Case.

The microphone cable can have a profound effect on the sound of any microphone. Even the finest microphones will sound poor if the interconnect cable allows noise to enter, or causes distortion and degradation of sound. Use only the best microphone cable to obtain the optimum performance from your microphone.
Dust and foreign material can degrade the performance of a microphone over time, so always store the unit in its case. Remove fingerprints from the exterior with a camp soft cloth.
