API DSM
- API’s discrete technology rack format mixdown and monitor system
- Get the famous API sound from your digital audio workstation
- Free up processing power while improving the performance and quality of mixes by mixing analog
The DSM Rack Systems are made from several channels of the 8200 Aux Mixer, the 7800 Master Module, and the 424 Bus Interface. Full tt patch bay facilities with rear connector interface panel are provided to allow flexibility in processing with external equipment. Metering for all mix buses is provided as well as talkback functions.
The DSM Monitor Panel lets you visually monitor the Stereo bus with the same analog meters used on API consoles and LED level indicators for the aux and track buses.
The 7800 Master Module includes summing amps for the Echo Sends, Track Busses and Stereo Mix Bus. It includes the master controls for the solo system including PFL, SIP and level control. There are six 2-track inputs, monitoring of the four sends and monitoring of the stereo bus. All interfacing of the 7800 has been wired through the DSM rack’s custom patch bay and rear access panel. This is a professional master section that can be used in any application requiring a control room controller.
The 8200 Eight-Channel Mixer Module is the latest rack mount module from API. It provides eight inputs in a one rack space unit and features a level control, a panner and 2 aux sends per channel. Each channel has a balanced input and a balanced insert point, conveniently switchable on the front panel. The addition of front panel mute and solo switches make this the perfect mixer for any line level application. Perfect with any DAW or “Pro Tools” type digital audio recording software system as a high fidelity discrete API mixing solution! Plug your DAW direct outputs into the DSM Rack Rear Interface panel, and then use the 8200 for panning and static level control. Use the recording software of your choice to do your mixing, and let the 8200 give you the option of bypassing your DAW’s digital mix bus.
An included tt patch bay provides all connections to the external equipment and is manufactured by Audio Accessories, the same company we use for API Legacy and Vision consoles.
The 424 Bus Interface lets you add external audio sources for summing to the stereo bus, the aux send buses or the multi track buses of the 7800 Master Module.
