The Earthworks P30/C and P30/HC Periscope is an instrument gooseneck microphone designed for live performance and studio recording environments.

Performance

Designed to provide an ultra flexible miking option, the P30/C and P30/HC is ideal for a wide range of acoustic and electric instruments, as well as orchestra and choir.

Thanks to its flexible gooseneck, the P30/C and P30/HC provides extra simplicity when trying to find that sweet spot. Instead of having to reposition the whole microphone or mic stand, simply flex the gooseneck to quickly reposition the microphone. Its uniquely designed small microphone head also allows you to get into difficult places, such as under the strings of an acoustic string bass.

The P30/C’s and P30/HC’s near-perfect cardioid polar pattern is consistent across all frequencies, simplifying mic placement, ensuring more gain before feedback and virtually eliminating phasing issues when using multiple microphones. With 32dB of rear rejection the P30/C and P30/HC is ideal for live performances or recording environments where there may be bleed from surrounding instruments.

It handles transients with ease, reproducing every detail no matter how sharp or subtle. Handling up to 145dB SPL without distortion, it’s nearly impossible to overload the P30/C and P30/HC, even with the loudest instruments.

The Periscope Microphones will provide you with astounding audio quality. Its uniquely designed small head and flexible neck will allow you to get into difficult places such as under the strings of an acoustic string bass. The Periscope design also offers more flexibility and ease of use for standard microphone applications. Imagine repositioning your microphone without having to move the stand or mic boom. The Periscope’s body can be pointed straight up and its microphone head can be pointed straight down in any direction. Earthworks directional microphones have patented near-perfect polar patterns. The sound across the entire front hemisphere is remarkably uniform and is flatter at 90 degrees than most microphones are on-axis. Our live performance microphones also have an incredible transparent sound quality, offering near-perfect polar response and high rejection of sounds at the rear of the microphone, resulting in less leakage and more gain before feedback.

With a maximum sound press level of 145dB SPL, you don’t have to worry about overloading the microphone with loud attacks or strong plosives. While the microphones are able to capture your performance with incredible nuance and precision, they are also built to withstand the rigors of the road.
