We love our EV RE-20. Always have, always will. But when we first got wind of Heil's new offering, we took notice. Looking like a side-address condenser, the PR40 is actually a front-address dynamic. But get this… it sounds almost like a condenser, exhibiting high and low details that usually get lost in the shuffle with other dynamic mics.
Designed with broadcast voice-overs in mind, the PR40 is incredible for kick drum, bass and guitar cabinets as well. And you'd be hard pressed to get the PR40 to distort. An RE-20 for the rest of us.
