Neve 33609J/D Stereo Compressor Limiter (Used) from Sony Studios
The AMS Neve 33609 compressor was made to the highest design standards and provides complete limiting and compression features for music recording, post production, and broadcast applications. The 2254 limiter/compressor, which Neve created in 1969, served as the prototype for the circuit design that became the basis for the 33609.
Compared to the originals, the unit has improved internal and external I/O switching while still providing the legendary Neve sound. As in the original 33609 design, the 33609/JD features a 340 discrete output stage.
A sound quality that is distinct from other compressor limiters is produced by the 33609’s use of transformers and a gain reduction element. This sound, combined with the device’s unmatched usability, has made it a studio standard. Multiple units can be linked together to operate on multiple channels.
