TC Electronics TC Electronics Film 6000 Audio Mixing Processor
The TC Electronics TC Electronics Film 6000 is as the name implies a special version of System 6000 MKII that is tailored for film production, offering all of the tools you need when creating and mixing audio for film.
When working with multichannel formats in film, it is absolutely key that your sense of space is consistent across channel formats.
Many reverbs will get more subtle, or almost seem to fade away, when going from 5.1 surrounds to stereo. This is not the case with the pristine reverbs of TC Electronics Film 6000 that appear equally vivid, realistic and crystal-clear whether in mono, stereo, 5.1, 7.1 or extreme multichannel formats like Auro and Dolby Atmos.

The Audio Backbone of Thousands of Film and Music Studios Around the World
Tailored for Film
Starting in the 80’s, we pioneered the field of digital audio and have provided the pro audio market with state-of-the-art tools ever since.
With TC Electronics Film 6000 we have collected all of the tools we know film creators use with System 6000. Capturing a visual moment perfectly is an accomplishment in itself, but true magic won’t happen until you add audio. TC Electronics Film 6000 will help you create those amazing, epic, scary, sad, moving, hilarious, exciting, thoughtful, evocative moments for cinema and TV.
In other words, it has become even easier for you to find the right combination of tools for this legendary platform. We have simply gathered and pre-installed all the tools relevant for film production so the system is ready to perform right out of the box.
Dedicated Film Tools
Creating realistically sounding spaces is key in film productionand reverb is absolutely essential in making this happen. TC Electronics Film 6000 comes with 19 of the best reverb algorithms known to audio in stereo, surround and even unlimited multichannel versions.
Another essential tool is our legendary UnWrap HD, which has been used for more than a decade by virtually all major Hollywood studios for unfolding a stereo signal to 5.1 surround.
Further, loudness has also become an issue in film. Obviously, movies have to co-exist with other types of program material in broadcast, but also in cinema, loudness normalization is being recognized as a meaningful way of measuring audio. To make sure all needs are catered for, we have included our ITU-compliant LM6 Loudness Radar Meter as well as the TASA-compliant AM6 Annoyance Radar Meter.
Proven Platform
The hardware platform of TC Electronics Film 6000 has been tested intensively in the most demanding production environments since 1999.
You will find System 6000 in literally thousands of world-leading recording, film, post and mastering studios all over the world, and in quite a few OB vans and broadcast production studios as well.
The platform has won no less than three of the prestigious TEC Awards over the years. In 2000 for the original System 6000, in 2005 for Mastering 6000 and in 2010 for System 6000 MKII.
Skywalker Sound Chooses System 6000 Again and Again
Skywalker Sound was founded by George Lucas and apart from creating the sound for Star Wars, their credit list is nothing short of amazing. From Indiana Jones over Shrek and Harry Potter to Transformers and many, many more.
Skywalker Sound was among the first to integrate the original System 6000.”We installed our first TC System 6000 in 1999,” recalls Doug Ford, Skywalker Sound’s engineering supervisor.
“The quality of its algorithms, as well as ease-of-use and flexibility, meant that we had to increase our stock over the next year or so to a total of 11 units. Since purchasing the units our mixers and sound designers have collaborated with TC to modify and improve the algorithm libraryand some have even bought their own, personal 6ks!”
In 2011 Skywalker Sound upgraded all of its 11 System 6000 units to the MKII version.”This latest upgrade greatly improves our ability to move projects from one room to another by exchanging User Presets and Automation data over our corporate network,” continues Ford. “It’s remarkable that the core hardwarewhich we bought more than 10 years agocontinues to benefit from significant feature releases that made this year’s hardware upgrades a worthwhile investment.”
TC Electronics Film 6000 Tools
TC Electronics Film 6000 comes with all of the algorithms that was included with the legendary Reverb 6000Multichannel as well as Stereo Reverbs. Plus the 8-channel Rev8 algorithm that was not available for the original Reverb 6000.
On top of that, you get a lot of additional algorithms that are invaluable in film production, including UnWrap HD, LM6, AM6, Varipitch 8 and Toolbox 5.1.

VSS 5.1 Source
A true 5.1 simulator algorithm with multi-directional, early-reflection patterns, a wide sweet spot and fully uncorrelated rendering.
VSS M4
4 discrete mono reverbs. Engineers often find such a setup more useful than using pre-configured structures for stereo, 5.1, 6.1 and other formats.
Reflector6
An extremely versatile delay and boundary effect that can reflect any environment. Easy to edit, so you can remain intuitive while mixing.
SpacePan
Our 8 input panning algorithm allows you to position any audio source precisely in a real-time or surround environment.
Stereo Reverbs
This license includes our very best stereo and dual source reverbs and delaysfor example VSS3, VSS4, Nonlin2 and Reflectorplus access to hundreds of film and music presets as well as the stereo section of Halls of Fame.
VSS 4HD
Highly advanced stereo reverb capable of treating source-related reflections from multiple angles with results of unrivalled precision.
VSS 3
What you get is simply a ‘true-to-life’ sound. We’ve designed this algorithm to painstakingly recreate room types that are incredibly convincing.
NonLin2
Envelope, Attack, Hold and Release parameters set you free to create compact vocal ambiance, dramatic eighties drum and percussion sounds, reverse reverbor your own new sonic creations.
DVR2
Generic Reverb with a true vintage flavor and a flattering sustain effect. It complements Source Reverb very well, and both can be great for different types of reverb applications.
ReflectorLCR
An extremely versatile delay and boundary effect that can reflect any environment. Easy to edit, so you can remain intuitive while mixing.
Reverb-2
Reverb that’s great for percussive instruments. It comes with a well-defined and precise build up and the uncorrelated design ensures perfect mono compatibility.
Reverb-3
Classic and true stereo reverb. Control decay time with four individually adjustable frequency bands and create sounds with virtually no audible early reflections.
Core-2
Great effect for small room simulations. Professionals in film and post production have found this algorithm perfect for reproducing the short ‘tails’ of small rooms.
Delay 1
24 bit true stereo delay that gives you up to 2.5 seconds in each channels with basic feedback control. You can use it with sample rates up to 96kHz.
Delay 2
Delay with filtered feedback control. Now you can modulate delays with full control over the relative L/R phase to emulate chorus or tape delay perfectly.
Chorus
High-resolution stereo chorus and flanging effects as well as modulated stereo delays of up to 650 ms per channel.
