AC701K Tubes.  The mic contains 2 Dual Side address nickel capsules. The mic is equivalent to two single KM56 microphones permanently configured in XY stereo, one capsule above the other with the top capsule having the ability to rotate 270 degrees for different mic’ing techniques. Dual PSU. Unlike the SM2 the SM23  has tube heaters that are individually supplied with voltage (and can be individually adjusted from the power supply) with the more desirable ‘c’ cathode biasing.  SM23’s were produced briefly between 1961 and 1966.
