The PM 1A is a combined mic preamp/DI, based on a classic TUBE-TECH design, but featuring even higher fidelity and a few new features: An impedance switch to match the input perfectly to all types of microphones, an overload indicator and 2 dB gain steps.
Serious listening tests of the PM 1A have revealed a sound quality second to none, placing it among a handful of the worlds very best designs.
The PM 1A DI continues the TUBE-TECH tradition of extremely good sounding DIās, delivering world class sound for bass and guitar DI recordings. You simply wonāt find a better DI than this!
Note: Due to the high quality of the TUBE-TECH RM Series power supply and the pristine audio circuits, the Modular Series products deliver exactly the same uncompromised sound quality as our 19ā units.

Technical Description
The TUBE-TECH PM 1A is a combined Microphone Preamplifier and Direct Instrument amplifier.
The input provides a switchable +48 V phantom power, a select-able mic. impedance of 600/1200/2400 Ohm, a phase reverse switch, a low-cut filter (20 Hz/40 Hz/off), as well as a switchable -20 dB pad. Gain is adjustable from +10 dB to +70 dB.
The Direct Instrument Input are unbalanced with a gain ranging from + 10 dB to + 60 dB. The amplifier is all tube. Input transformer is enclosed in a MU-metal can. Input and output transformers come with a static screen between the primary and secondary wirings. The input and output are balanced as well as fully floating.
The TUBE-TECH EM 1A Passive Tube EQ is an exact replica of our oldest āclassicā, the PE 1C all-tube, passive Program Equalizer, which itself is based on the classic PULTEC EQP 1A.
The EM 1A features an all-passive EQ section and a high quality op amp. The circuit is in fact exactly the same as that of the PE 1C, only downsized to fit the modular form factor ā without any changes whatsoever in specs or sound.
All the characteristics of the PE1C and all the famous special features are available. All components, including all transformers are exact the same as in PE1C.
Due to the high quality of the TUBE-TECH RM Series power supply and the pristine audio circuits, the Modular Series products deliver exactly the same uncompromised sound quality as our 19ā units.
Features and Technical Specifications
The TUBE-TECH EM 1A is a passive tube equalizer, containing a low frequency boost and attenuation section (shelving), and a high frequency boost section (peaking). The high frequency section has variable bandwidth as well as attenuation (shelving). The filter section is of the passive type followed by a tube based push-pull amplifier to restore the gain.
Input and output are balanced as well as fully floating. Input and output transformers come with a static screen between the primary and secondary wirings.

CM1A is the Modular CL1B, with updated action!
The TUBE-TECH CM 1A Compressor is an optical, all-tube compressor. It features exactly the same tube circuit as our famous CL 1B Opto Compressor, but the action is different due to a different, carefully selected optical element and a fine-tuning of the control circuit.
This provides the CM 1A with an attack that enhances transients in a more punchy way, making it ideal for percussive material, yet still very well suited for vocals, bass guitar, etc.
The different optical element does NOT seriously change the the āclassicā characteristics, known from the CL1B. The action of the CM1A places it somewhere between the LCA2B (Tube VCA) and the classic CL1B. CM1A has been extremely well received by numerous top engineers.
Note: Due to the high quality of the TUBE-TECH RM Series power supply and the pristine audio circuits, the Modular Series products deliver exactly the same uncompromised sound quality as our 19ā units.
Features and Technical Specifications
The TUBE-TECH CM 1A Compressor features a gain-reduction element, positioned immediately after the input transformer. It is controlled by the sidechain amplifier, which also contain the two time control circuits ā one for fixed and one for variable Attack/Release. The two time-controllers can either be used separately or combined.
This circuit contains semiconductor OP-amps for the entire control.
A tube-based push-pull amplifier follows the gain-reduction element with variable gain up to 30 dB. A dedicated Bus selector with three positions (Off, Link 1, Link 2) is used whenever you want to link several compressors together. Input and output transformers have a static-screen between the primary and secondary wirings. Input and Output is transformer balanced as well as fully floating.
