We actually A/B'd a pair of these 5-band mono EQs against the venerable and super-expensive GML 8200. Astonishingly, the 5033 fared very well. While the GML was certainly more transparent and neutral, the Neve accomplished the same boosts/cuts at the same frequencies with a little panache. It had some subtle musical color, and a pair of 5033's goes for two grand less than a GML.
